The Théâtre des Gémeaux Parisiens is located on the Rue du Retrait in the twentieth arrondissement, occupying a space with a history that stretches back nearly one hundred and fifty years. The building began as part of the Patronage Saint-Pierre, a community center founded by the Salesian congregation in the late nineteenth century to provide cultural and athletic activities for local families. In those early days, the site functioned with a theater on the ground floor and a chapel directly above it, a dual purpose that persists in the architecture to this day. You can still see the original stained glass windows and the bell tower of that old chapel rising from the upper part of the building.
