The Jardin Mário Soares is a relatively new addition to the Parisian landscape, having been officially renamed and dedicated in January 2026. This urban space was previously known as the Jardin Pixérécourt, named after the street it sits upon in the 20th arrondissement. The decision to rename the site serves as a formal tribute to Mário Soares, the former President of Portugal and a central figure in the restoration of Portuguese democracy.
