Théâtre Saint-Georges

The Theatre Saint-Georges opened its doors on February 8, 1929, but its construction process was far from smooth. One of the actors hired for the very first production later recalled that the building's original design was so flawed that an enormous staircase took up three-quarters of the available interior space. The builders apparently forgot to include a stage until the final moments of construction, leaving the cast members to be paid for months while they waited for the oversight to be corrected.
