Khazana Gate

Khazana Gate stands out for the distinct, arched brickwork that distinguishes it from the surrounding city walls. It served as one of the twelve original entry points into the walled city of Amritsar. The name translates to treasury, reflecting its role as the gate where the royal tax collectors once processed trade goods entering the city. During the construction of the Partition memorial, workers unearthed historical structural layers beneath the foundation that suggest the gate functioned as a primary customs checkpoint for centuries.
