Sakuramon Gate

The Sakuramon Gate sits between two massive, jagged stone walls that seem ready to slide together and crush anything in between. It is the primary entrance to the inner citadel of Osaka Castle. A single boulder, the Octopus Stone, weighs over one hundred tons and guards the left side of the passage. Legend says the stone shape-shifted into an octopus to trick stonemasons during the construction of the castle, hiding its true size until it was too late to move.
