Casa de los Abanicos

The Casa de los Abanicos features a long, curved facade topped by a row of stone ornaments shaped like open hand fans. Constructed in the early twentieth century for a wealthy family, the mansion later served as the headquarters for the Jalisco state government’s official residence. Architecturally, it blends European influence with local masonry, but the fans remain its defining feature. Legend claims the original owner had them installed to honor his daughter, who collected fans, though the records remain silent on the true reason.
