The red neon sign spelling out Roxy glows above a storefront that still feels like nineteen forty-six. Carlos Gallardo opened this shop in Guadalajara before moving it to Mexico City, where it became a fixture for fruit-based ice creams. He insisted on using natural ingredients, often spending his days sourcing fresh mamey or guanabana from local markets. Even as the neighborhood changed around the shop, the menu stayed anchored to those original recipes, serving generations of families who come for the mamey.
