The Edificio Roxy stands out for its bold, streamlined curves and the corner balcony that wraps around the intersection of Avenida México and Michoacán. Built in the late nineteen thirties, this structure marks the shift in Hipódromo toward the functional, clean lines of the Art Deco style that defined the neighborhood’s expansion. Architect Francisco J. Serrano designed it to house residents who wanted a modern life, and for decades, the ground floor served as the neighborhood pharmacy, holding the community together in everyday ways.
