Café Nin

The low, terracotta-colored building on the corner features a heavy wooden door that opens into a space lined with bookshelves reaching toward the ceiling. This site occupies the former home and studio of the writer Elena Garro and the poet Octavio Paz. They lived here during the nineteen forties, surrounded by books and the intense creative debates of their circle. Today, the café keeps their legacy alive by serving coffee and pastries in the rooms where they once wrote.
