Glorieta de las mujeres que Luchan

The stone base in the center of the glorieta stands empty where a statue of Christopher Columbus once looked down Paseo de la Reforma. In twenty twenty-one, feminist collectives occupied the site, renaming it for women who struggle. They covered the plinth in the names of missing women and victims of violence. While the city government has attempted to replace the sculpture several times, the activists continue to maintain this space as a protest site dedicated to those seeking justice in Mexico.
