The Museo Experimental el Eco features walls that slant at sharp, non-perpendicular angles, creating a space designed to induce physical disorientation in its visitors. Matthias Goeritz built this structure in nineteen fifty-two to serve as an emotional piece of architecture, rejecting traditional functionality in favor of a psychological response. He insisted that the building itself act as a sculpture. When the doors first opened, patrons often felt an intense, jarring unease as they navigated the narrow, dark corridors toward the light.
