Built in the nineteen fifties, it serves as the headquarters for the National Association of Actors, Mexico's primary performers' union. Jorge Negrete himself was a legendary charro singer and one of the most famous figures in Mexican cinema. He helped found the union to protect artists from exploitation, and the building remains a working hub for union business today.
