The Cine Opera is defined by its massive, stark white Art Deco facade, topped with two large, abstract sculptural figures by artist Manuel Centurion. Opened in nineteen forty-two, it served as the most opulent cinema in Mexico City, featuring a luxurious foyer lined with marble and seating for over two thousand people. During its heyday, the theater hosted high-profile film premieres and orchestral performances. Today, the structure sits silent, its once grand entrance boarded up and weathered by decades of decay.
