Rotorua isite Visitor Information Centre

landmark

The Rotorua i-SITE Visitor Information Centre occupies the former grand entrance of the old railway station, marked by its heavy timber beams and distinctive pitched roofline. Built in nineteen oh eight, the building served as the hub for travelers arriving by steam train to experience the geothermal wonders of the region. Local builders constructed the station using native rimu wood, chosen for its strength and rich color. It became the first point of contact for thousands of visitors arriving in Rotorua for decades.
