Przejście Garncarskie

Przejście Garncarskie is a narrow, medieval passage connecting the main market square to the nearby churchyard. Its name comes from the potters who once worked in the stalls lining the alley during the fourteenth century. While fire and wartime bombardment destroyed many original structures in Wrocław, this passage retains its cramped, uneven stone path and historic scale. In nineteen sixty-one, workers digging here unearthed a buried wooden water pipe, a relic of the city’s early infrastructure that once funneled water to those ancient potteries.
