Wroclaw Old Town Hall

The Wroclaw Old Town Hall features a jagged, asymmetrical roofline and a massive astronomical clock embedded directly into its eastern facade. Built over two hundred and fifty years starting in the late thirteenth century, it served as the center of municipal power and justice. Beneath the building, the Piwnica Świdnicka cellar once sold beer so prized that kings and noblemen famously feasted there for centuries. The building survived the fires and sieges of World War Two, remaining the city's stubborn, gothic heart.
