Bermondsey Town Hall

Bermondsey Town Hall serves as a reminder of the area's transition from a bustling industrial hub to a residential neighborhood. Completed between 1928 and 1930, the building was constructed on the site of the former Bermondsey Public Baths. Architect Henry Tansley designed it in a Greek Revival style, characterized by the prominent tetrastyle Ionic portico that still commands the Spa Road frontage. Today, the structure has been converted into private residences, but its original civic grandeur remains visible in the brickwork and the coat of arms of the former Metropolitan Borough of Bermondsey centered within the pediment.
