Penguin Beach

cultural

Penguin Beach is a specialized habitat located within ZSL London Zoo, designed specifically for a colony of Humboldt penguins. This exhibit recreates a rugged South American coastline in the heart of the city, complete with a massive pool that holds over one hundred thousand gallons of water. It serves as a dedicated breeding and conservation facility where visitors can observe the birds diving and swimming through large underwater viewing windows. Unlike earlier, more rigid zoo enclosures, this space features amphitheater-style seating that allows crowds to watch the penguins during their daily feeding demonstrations.
