The Magic Circle

cultural

The Magic Circle, tucked away on Stephenson Way, is the global headquarters for one of the world's most exclusive societies for magicians. While the club was founded in 1905, it spent nearly a century as an itinerant group meeting in hired rooms before finally establishing this permanent home in 1998. The building itself is a former Victorian warehouse that underwent a multi-million pound renovation to become a purpose-built hub for the art of illusion. Members who gather here must abide by a strict Latin motto, Indocilis privata loqui, which translates to not apt to disclose secrets. This commitment to secrecy is so central to the society that historically, members have faced expulsion for revealing the methods behind their craft.
