Culpeper Community Garden

park garden

Culpeper Community Garden sits on what was once a derelict World War Two bomb site. In 1982, a local school teacher named Anthea Douglas looked over a high wall and decided the rubble-strewn lot could serve a better purpose as a green space for children and the local community. She secured a small grant, rallied volunteers, and partnered with a community service program to clear the debris and lay the foundations for the landscape you see today.
