Old Town Hall, Kensington

The building known as the Old Town Hall of Kensington met a sudden and controversial end in nineteen eighty-two. Although it had served the community since eighteen eighty, the grand Italianate structure was demolished in an overnight operation ordered by the local council leader. The site was slated to receive special protected status the very next day, but the building was leveled before that designation could take effect, ensuring nothing remained of the original Victorian facade.
