Connaught Square

You are standing in one of London's most elegant residential enclaves. Connaught Square was the first residential square built on the Hyde Park Estate, with its construction finishing in eighteen twenty-eight. Its uniform, dark brick townhouses and white stucco details were designed to establish a sense of harmony that has remained largely untouched for nearly two hundred years. The square takes its name from the Earl of Connaught, a title once held by the Duke of Gloucester, a member of the royal family who maintained a residence on this land long before the current terraces appeared.
