St George's Circus

St George's Circus holds the distinction of being the first planned traffic junction in London. When it was laid out in 1771, it served as a grand southern gateway to the city, intended to manage the flow of traffic between three major Thames river crossings: Blackfriars, Westminster, and London Bridge.
