Precita Park

landmark

Precita Park stretches out as a long, narrow green strip between Folsom and Harrison streets, marked by its gentle slope and the rows of mature palm trees lining its central path. Originally designated as parkland in the eighteen sixties, the space spent decades as a catchall site for dumping and informal community use. Neighborhood residents eventually organized in the nineteen seventies to clear the debris and install the paths and playgrounds that define the park today.
