Warm Water Cove Park

Warm Water Cove Park gets its name from the nearby Potrero Power Plant, which operated for decades just to the north. The plant pulled massive amounts of cold bay water in to cool its machinery and then discharged the water back into the cove at a significantly higher temperature. This thermal discharge created a localized microclimate in the water that attracted schools of fish, turning this small industrial pocket into a surprisingly popular destination for local anglers who sought out the warmer currents.
