Esprit Park

landmark

Esprit Park began as a private employee perk for the fashion company Esprit de Corps. In 1982, founders Susie Tompkins Buell and Doug Tompkins transformed a city block of industrial buildings into a landscaped retreat for their garment workers. While the office nearby hummed with the production of iconic eighties apparel, the park served as an oasis complete with its own grass tennis court and a rotation of large-scale outdoor sculptures.
