Aquatic Park

You are approaching Aquatic Park, a stretch of waterfront that was once a rugged, industrial dumping ground known as Black Point Cove. Long before it became a public park, this area was filled with the debris of the city's growth, including remnants from the great fires and earthquakes that reshaped San Francisco. Swimmers and local rowing clubs fought for decades to reclaim the shoreline from heavy industry, finally succeeding in transforming the murky, abandoned cove into a protected sanctuary for the public.
