San Francsico & Bay Area Korea Center (샌프란시스코 • 베이 지역 한인회)

The building you see at seven hundred forty-five Buchanan Street has served as a center for the local Korean community for nearly four decades. Before it became the San Francisco and Bay Area Korea Center, this site housed the Alper Memorial Building, which opened in nineteen twenty-five to support Jewish educational and loan associations. For many years, you could spot six Stars of David integrated into the arched windows on the Grove Street side of the structure, serving as a quiet reminder of its earlier role in the neighborhood. Today, the facility has been fully renovated into a modern hub that hosts everything from calligraphy classes and senior services to large-scale cultural events.
