Fleur de Lys (restaurant)

historic

The restaurant that once stood here at seven hundred seventy-seven Sutter Street was famous for a dining room that resembled the interior of an elaborate, opulent tent. Hundreds of yards of red brocade fabric were draped from the ceiling to a central point, creating an intimate, muffled space that effectively blocked out the noise of the city outside. This unique design choice made the windowless room feel like a secluded, regal hideaway for diners.
