Kadist

Kadist was established in the Mission District in 2011 as a unique bridge between global contemporary art and the local community. The organization originated in Paris after a casual, late-night conversation over a bottle of wine between founders Vincent Worms and Sandra Terdjman, who envisioned a space dedicated to supporting artists as cultural agents. The name itself is an anagram of the word Tsadik, a nod to an earlier philanthropic project focused on social justice. This spirit of activism remained central to the space, which functioned as a non-profit hub where artists were encouraged to tackle urgent social and political issues through experimental media, including video, performance, and installation.
