Levi's Plaza features distinct reddish-brown brick facades and terraced levels that mimic the rolling hills of the city. Developed in the early nineteen eighties as the global headquarters for Levi Strauss and Company, this complex replaced a jumble of derelict warehouses and parking lots. Architect Lawrence Halprin designed the terraced landscape, which includes a man-made waterfall tumbling over granite boulders. While the company still occupies these offices, the public walkways and the quiet courtyards serve as a retreat from the waterfront.
