A metal gate separates the sidewalk from a small, sloped concrete space filled with patches of green and a single, rusted climbing structure. This park sits on the site of a nineteen twenties auto repair shop that burned down in the late sixties. Neighbors pushed the city to acquire the empty lot and turned it into a patch of earth for local children. The steel frame still standing in the middle comes from that original shop, left behind after the fire.
