Tara Street Park

Tara Street Park occupies a steep, terraced hillside in the Ingleside district. It holds a distinct collection of concrete slides built directly into the slope, a rare design choice from the nineteen seventies. Before the city transformed this land into a park, the site sat empty for years, serving as a dumping ground for neighborhood trash. Local residents campaigned to clear the debris and install a play area that utilized the natural incline of the terrain instead of flattening it out.
