A bright yellow tile mosaic depicting a winding ocean wave snakes across the concrete ground of Cayuga Playground Park. This splash of color stands out against the muted houses surrounding the sloping terrain. The park exists because of a local gardener named Demetrio Braceros. Between nineteen eighty-six and two thousand and six, Braceros transformed this formerly empty, steep dirt lot into a lush garden and play area. He built the retaining walls, planted hundreds of trees, and designed the colorful pathways himself.
