The stone pillars flanking the entrance on Monterey Boulevard mark the boundary of Westwood Park. Developers built this neighborhood in nineteen seventeen as a planned garden community, carving it out of what was once part of the Sutro Forest. Rows of detached houses sit along curved streets designed to follow the natural contours of the hillside. Architect Charles F. Hunt oversaw the construction, creating a residential pocket that feels insulated from the noise of the surrounding city grid.
