The Joost and Baden Mini Park occupies a sharp triangular point where two streets converge in the Sunnyside neighborhood. Its most recognizable feature is a series of weathered, terraced concrete planters that climb the slope. In the nineteen seventies, this space served as a dumping ground for neighborhood trash. Local residents spent years petitioning the city to clear the debris and install landscaping. They eventually succeeded, transforming the neglected intersection into this quiet, tiered garden that residents still maintain today.
