Little Haiti Cultural Complex

The Little Haiti Cultural Complex centers on a bright, mural-covered courtyard defined by its distinctive Caribbean architectural style and colorful, geometric rooflines. This site opened in two thousand six to anchor a neighborhood undergoing rapid change. When the city planned the complex, activist Viter Juste pushed for a space that would preserve the identity of the Haitian diaspora. He wanted a hub for art and dance rather than a simple office building. Today, artists occupy the studio spaces, and drummers rehearse in the central plaza.
