Eaton Hall is a rectangular brick building with a distinct white cupola rising from the center of its roofline. Named for Charles Eaton, a generous benefactor who helped the university climb out of a deep financial hole in the late nineteenth century, the building served for decades as the primary home for the college library. Students once navigated aisles packed with shelves in this space, searching for books under the quiet gaze of high ceilings before the collection moved to a larger facility.
