Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy

educational

The Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy sits inside Goddard Hall, a brick building topped with a prominent clock tower that serves as the visual anchor for the campus. Founded in nineteen thirty-three, it was the first graduate school in the country dedicated entirely to international affairs. When the school opened, the curriculum focused on training diplomats to navigate a world reeling from the Great Depression, an mission born from a gift in the will of Austin Barclay Fletcher.
