The land beneath your feet at the Grove Church Cemetery has been a place of burial since eighteen forty-seven. It remains one of the oldest active cemeteries in Hudson County, situated on the western slope of the Hudson Palisades. Local banker John Brown originally donated this ground, then a quiet grove of trees, to support the local Reformed Church congregation. Today, the cemetery is part of a string of green open spaces that mark this historic hillside.
