museum

You are standing before one of the oldest residences in Brooklyn Heights. Constructed in eighteen twenty-nine, this wood-frame townhouse represents a rare survival of the early Federal period, a time when this neighborhood was transforming from farmland into a residential enclave. While many of its neighbors were replaced by brick and stone structures as the city expanded, this house remains a testament to the original timber architecture that once dominated these streets.
