Blauwe vogels - lichtkunstwerk van Dhr Maeterlinck

The light installation consists of a series of glowing blue birds perched on the overhead tram wires of Ghent. These creatures take their name and inspiration from the nineteen oh eight play by Maurice Maeterlinck, who was born in this city. In the story, two children travel through various worlds to find the blue bird of happiness. When they finally return home, they discover the bird was in their own cage all along. The installation illuminates the streets where Maeterlinck grew up.
