The Oude Vismijn features a tall, stepped gable adorned with a stone statue of Neptune. Fishmongers gathered here for centuries to sell their catch under the watchful eye of the god of the sea. By the nineteen fifties, the market moved to a modern facility outside the city center, leaving this structure empty. It now houses a tourist office, but the original carvings of dolphins and river gods remain embedded in the facade, marking where the trade once thrived.
