De Garre is a narrow alleyway tucked between the Markt and the Breidelstraat, hidden behind a heavy wooden door that opens into a pub of the same name. While most visitors walk past the unassuming entrance without noticing, the pub inside holds a collection of over one hundred Belgian beers. In nineteen eighty-four, the owner decided to create a retreat from the crowded city center, serving his own strong house beer in a glass shaped like a tulip to capture the aroma.
