Minnewaterbrug (Lover's Bridge)

The Minnewaterbrug is a stone bridge with a single, wide arch that sits at the southern end of the Minnewater lake. While the current structure dates back to the early twentieth century, a bridge has connected this point to the city since the Middle Ages. Its name comes from the Dutch words for common water, though locals prefer the legend of Minna, a young woman who died here while waiting for her lover. A statue of a swan nearby marks the spot.
