IKTT(Innovation of Khmer Traditional Textiles)

The low, open-air wooden structures at Innovation of Khmer Traditional Textiles are raised on stilts, surrounding a central garden filled with the plants used to create natural dyes. Kikuo Morimoto founded this center in nineteen ninety-six to revive the complex, near-extinct art of Cambodian silk weaving. He spent years tracking down elderly weavers who had survived the Khmer Rouge era to recover forgotten patterns. Today, the looms clatter as a new generation learns to master these intricate, silk-wrapped resist techniques.
