Wat Damnak

Wat Damnak features a sprawling temple compound painted in brilliant ochre and white, punctuated by the curved, tiered roofs of traditional Khmer architecture. It serves as a rare scholarly sanctuary in Siem Reap, housing one of the country's most significant libraries and a center for Khmer studies. King Sisowath once lived on these grounds during the early twentieth century, transforming the site from a simple monastery into a residence that helped bridge the gap between religious life and royal administration.
