The Lokal Gallery features a distinctive wooden storefront painted in a muted, dark tone that sets it apart from the surrounding stone facades of Annankatu. Founded by photographer Katja Hagelstam, the space functions as a home for Finnish craft, art, and design. Hagelstam originally opened the doors to create a place where the line between a curated exhibition and a living room blurred. Inside, shelves and walls hold rotating displays of ceramics, textiles, and paintings made by local makers living across Finland.
