Casa Tallberg stands out as a building wrapped in a grid of emerald green glazed ceramic tiles. Built in nineteen eleven, the structure was the first residential house in Helsinki designed with a reinforced concrete frame. Julius Tallberg, a local merchant, commissioned it to provide modern apartments for the city elite. During the Second World War, a Soviet bomb hit the roof, but the concrete structure held the floors in place, preventing the entire building from collapsing into the street below.
