Pont de Tolbiac

The Pont de Tolbiac stands as the final bridge in Paris to be constructed entirely of stone masonry. Completed in 1882, it arrived just as the era of reinforced concrete began to transform engineering across the capital. Its five elliptical arches were designed to bridge the growing divide between the expanding neighborhoods of the twelfth and thirteenth arrondissements, providing a crucial transit artery that had been lacking in the eastern part of the city.
